Biography

Yihan Zhang is a PhD student in the Department of Architecture at the National University of Singapore. Her research sits at the intersection of building technology, energy and human health, exploring how adaptive envelope systems can respond to both environmental conditions and occupant needs. Before beginning her doctoral studies, Yihan worked as an architect in China for four years, contributing to a range of large-scale commercial and cultural projects, from high-rise complexes to public landmark competitions - an experience that directly shaped her research focus on climate-adaptive facade systems and BIPV. Her work has been published in international academic journals, with two papers recognized as ESI Top 1% Highly Cited.
